Cette remarque, je viens d’en faire les frais avec Acadia ! Alors que j’allais faire la dernière diminution avant d’attaquer les rangs raccourcis, j’ai eu la bonne idée de compter mes mailles (pourquoi ne l’ai-je pas fait avant, je l’ignore…). Et là, j’ai constaté avec horreur que je n’avais pas le bon nombre de mailles puisque j’en avais moins que ce que je devais obtenir une fois les rangs raccourcis exécutés !

This sentence is really appropriated to what just happened to me with Acadia. Just before I started to make the last decrease before the short rows, I had the idea to count the stitches on my needles (I don’t know why I didn’t do it earlier…). And I realized with horror that I didn’t have the right number of stitches as I had less than what I should have had after the short rows!

La seule explication possible est l’oubli d’une augmentation, le problème étant de savoir où…

The only explanation was that I had forgotten to make an increase, but where?

D’un sens comme de l’autre, il fallait que je redéfasse les 22 cm environ qui avaient été tricotés jusqu’ici ! Ne restait plus qu’à savoir si j’allais retrouver sur quel rang j’avais oublié de faire ces fameuses augmentations. En fait, si cela avait été autre chose que du point mousse ou dans une laine bien plus fine, je crois que j’aurais pris le temps de chercher en détail, mais là, j’ai préféré détricoter jusqu’à la toute première augmentation.

In a way or another, I had to frog about 22 cm, but would I be able to find where was my mistake? To be honest, if it had not been garter stitch or if that yarn had been fingering or lace, I would have taken time to search where I made the mistake, but I’ve preferred to frog until I reached the first increase.

Cela ne m’a pas pris beaucoup de temps et je peux maintenant repartir sur une bonne base en faisant cette fois-ci bien attention à ce que je fais. Heureusement, que le point mousse monte facilement et que la laine est relativement grosse, cela va me permettre de rattraper le retard que cette erreur d’inattention m’a fait prendre.

It wasn’t long to do and now I can start again on a good basis and I can tell you I’ll pay attention to my work. Fortunately, garter stitch grows fast and the yarn is not thin so I should be able to catch up after this inattention.
